It's another Tuesday and another color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. This week features some a very soft pinks and a russet along with a green.
I made this note card size - 3 1/2 x 5 inches. This size is the smallest that can be mailed. I like it because often I don't want to write a whole lot on the inside of the card. This allows for a simple "Happy Birthday - Have a wonderful day!" or "Thank you for your kindness, it means so much to me". Something simple and easy. I intentionally did not put a sentiment on the front so it can be used for any occasion.
This stamp set is one of those that is very versatile even though it's super simple (probably BECAUSE it's simple). It has a matching postage stamp rectangle punch which means cards can be made fast. To get the square stamp I punched out the stamp and then re-punched it to make shorter. The punch has perforation marks which makes it very easy to line up. I did have to adhere the image end getting cut off to a strip of paper in order for it to reach inside the punch.
The images are stamped in Stazon Black ink and colored using the inks and a blender pen. Because there isn't much color I could use the Whisper White Thick and not worry about the paper pilling. If there were a lot of watercoloring I would need to use a paper designed for that.
I also used two layers of green underneath the stamps to add a bit more green to the card. On the small stamp, the bottom left corner actual has an extra three layers so that it is flush with the rectangular
For a bit extra I also stamped the envelope. I find this is always a nice touch.
I hope you'll join us this week at CC&S!
