Since today is the last day of the month, it marks my last day as hostess on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog (at least for a little while). And because it is the fifth Tuesday of the month we have a "timeless Tuesday" where we revisit a previous sketch and use retired colors.
Here are the sketch and colors posted:
This sketch is one of the very early ones on the blog and I updated it a bit by adding some striped washi tape n the side. I chose the colors because orange is one of my favorites and I thought a nice floral would be great for this time of year.
I decided to make a thank you card as I have a few thank you's to send. It's a long story, but I have friends in Los Angeles who stepped up to help my daughter (also in LA) when the California stay-at-home order was placed and her university tried to evict her from her off-campus apartment. It is wonderful to have friends like that! (Thankfully, the university reconsidered their position and let the graduate students stay in their two student per two bedroom apartments.)
The mechanics of this card: I cut all pieces from white and colored with the ink and sponge daubers. Super simple!
Dies: Stampin' Up! Poppy Moments
Stamps: Stampin' Up! Peaceful Moments
Bundle of both of the above: Stampin' Up! Peaceful Moments Bundle
Inks: SU retired Peek-a-Boo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Washi tape

Good grief, it's hard to believe that students would just be asked to leave in such a situation! Thank goodness for good friends Jeanne - you must be very relieved your daughter is safe.
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous - I love those die cut blooms and you're right, the striped washi gives the card a lovely modern twist. Take care, Vicky x
Ugh. I'm so happy my college daughter is going to the local college and living at home right now. Your card is gorgeous. Love those die cut flowers!
ReplyDeleteCant go wrong with the Poppy suite at all!!! Love how you sponged the colors, great texture. The washi tape is a dramatic addition that is so stunning. Great job.
