Today's card uses one of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin' Up!'s new catalog - Animal Outing! It features some adorable animals in a fun, sketched style along with some great sentiments.
This card is for this week's color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches blog. Wei picked some fun colors this week:
Please join us at the challenge - it is loads of fun and we love seeing what everyone creates!
For my card, I used an aqua painter and the ink to color the image. I stamped it in the old SU Archival Black ink, but any waterproof black ink will work. To make the branch less bright I used a combination of orange and green.
I used the Stitched Shapes framelits and a stack of Circles in Melon Mambo to give a little color and depth to the medallion. For the leaves on the side panel, I used scrap paper as a mask for the left side, then I tapped just one side the same frog/branch stamp in Garden Green randomly along the right side. I added a thin strip of the green to finish it off.
I
hope you enjoyed this card today. I have a list of some of the supplies with links

What a pretty card as always, Jeanne! Love the background with un- Colored branches and the cute frog reminds me the story "The Frog Prince"! Thanks for the inspiration for the colour challenge.
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your cards for inspiration. You have a great talent for composing beautiful layouts.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you used the stamp set on your card, Jeanne. The branches down the side are a sweet compliment to your image panel. Great use of the colors, too. Hugs, Cathy
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! I LOVE that little frog, especially with that delightfully-colored background! So cute! Thanks so much for asking me to be a GD this month, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love the touch of watercolor to highlight the frog.
ReplyDeleteLove our colouring of the frog and how you highlighted him by adding the background colours. x
ReplyDeleteI love how you've colored the focal panel to look like a sunset sky behind the frog! I also like the way you coordinated the side panel with the same leafy branch image. Excellent job!
ReplyDeleteI almost missed that darling tiny frog.
