A Balloon Birthday

It's another Tuesday and time for two challenges this week.  The first is for the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, and the second is for the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers where I started as a guest challenge hostess this week.  I'll be hosting challenges there every few weeks for the next six months.
 The sketch challenge at CC&S:
And the color challenge at SCS - So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay:
I used watercolor pencils to color the bunny and balloons and the matching dies to cut them out.  The strings were stamped on the Bermuda Bay panel and the balloons and bunny popped up using foam dots.  I thought the large dot embossing folder added a little interest to the front panel of the card while still keeping it clean and simple.

Please join us at both of these challenges this week!

Follow Your Dreams

It's Tuesday and another color challenge at the CAS Colours and Sketches blog.
This week's colors are Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.
I used the Pool Party to create a wash, then I stamped the dream catcher in Bermuda Bay.  Using the Stamparatus I stamped the feathers in either Pool Party or Calypso Coral.  I used a sponge dauber and put the opposite color on the edges of the feathers and stamped them again.  The combination of the Pool Party and Coral gave me brown edges on the feathers.
I added the word "Dream" using the matching die cut and four layers of Calypso Coral under the top layer of Bermuda Bay.

I hope you enjoyed this card today.  I have a list of some of the supplies with links to my Stampin' Up! website below.  If you order please use Hostess code FK7PAJNW - valid through June 29.  (If you order $150 of products-before tax and shipping-do not use the code so YOU get the hostess benefits.)

Blue Footed Challenge Card

Fun card for the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers this week.  Mary picked Tangerine Tango, Dapper Denim and Sahara Sand.  Her extra was to add Soft Suede.
This bird just cracked me up the first time I saw it.  I thought it would be great for this week.  Of course after I was finished I found out that blue footed boobies also have blue bills - but oh well, artistic liberties!
After stamping the image in waterproof ink on mixed media paper I used an Aqua Painter and the ink pads to watercolor the image.  A strip of dotted paper in Soft Suede finished it off.

Father's Day Plane and Simple

Good morning! My card today is for two challenges!  The first is this week's sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.  The second is Lawn Fawn's Cards for Guys challenge - just in time for Father's Day.
Here is the sketch:
Did I ever say how much I love sketch challenges?  (Only all the time!)  They do half of the designing for you!

My husband travels a lot so I thought this cute little plane would be appropriate.  I stenciled the clouds on a separate piece of cardstock and then cut the window using a curved banner.
The plane and banner are colored using Copic markers.  This was a fun and super easy card to make!

Animal Outing Color Challenge

Today's card uses one of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin' Up!'s new catalog - Animal Outing!  It features some adorable animals in a fun, sketched style along with some great sentiments.
This card is for this week's color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches blog.  Wei picked some fun colors this week:
Please join us at the challenge - it is loads of fun and we love seeing what everyone creates!

For my card, I used an aqua painter and the ink to color the image.  I stamped it in the old SU Archival Black ink, but any waterproof black ink will work.  To make the branch less bright I used a combination of orange and green.
I used the Stitched Shapes framelits and a stack of Circles in Melon Mambo to give a little color and depth to the medallion.  For the leaves on the side panel, I used scrap paper as a mask for the left side, then I tapped just one side the same frog/branch stamp in Garden Green randomly along the right side.  I added a thin strip of the green to finish it off.
